About KISAKI
Lydia Kim (born August 9), known professionally as Kisaki (stylized in all caps), is a Korean-Canadian producer, engineer, vocalist and DJ from Toronto, Ontario. Having been classically trained in voice and music theatre from the age of 14, Kim also found her joy and passion in dancing to K-Pop, watching anime, and playing video games at a time when those around her did not share her interests. Today, Kisaki is best known for her vocally-charged performances on the We Touch Grass Anime Rave Tour, as well as a recurring instructor and mentor for SOCAN Foundation’s Equity X Production Mentorship Program.
At 13 years old Kisaki began to teach herself how to record covers on Audacity - after experiencing limited opportunities to sing on stage - with her first song being "1000 Words" from the video game Final Fantasy X-2 in English.
In 2013, Kisaki attended the University of Waterloo where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Music. Shortly after, she pursued her Masters of Music Performance in Music Technology and Digital Media at the University of Toronto. During her time at school she began expanding her musical journey with collaborations with underground EDM producers and Touhou music groups (in the U.S. and Japan) as a songwriter and vocalist. Her contributions included music in genres such as melodic dubstep, future bass, hardstyle, synthwave and eurobeat genres.
In July 2021, Kim released her self-produced debut extended play, “Heart Battery,” and a collaborative remix extended play for her title track, “Battery” the following year, marking the beginnings of her solo endeavour.
In 2022, Kisaki joined Emtee Music Group as an intern and progressed to become a resident producer and A&R for the label. Her creative expertise had contributed to the development of young independent artists such as Dillon Antony and Ary Roberto. By 2025, she had departed from the label.
By the spring of 2022, Kisaki assisted with redeveloping SOCAN Foundation’s Equity X Production Mentorship Program. Kisaki has been a recurring mentor for female and non-binary musicians while facilitating the program. As a part of the program, she also contributed and promoted the program at music conferences such as BreakOut West in Calgary, Alberta in 2022 and Kelowna, British Columbia in 2023.
Presently, Kisaki has performed in at least eight cities for the We Touch Grass Anime Rave tour since 2024 while also becoming a rising presence in the Toronto underground scene as a DJ.
